MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Systems Monitoring Lead , the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the administration, configuration, and management of monitoring and alerting tools across USCENTCOM's IT infrastructure. This role ensures the continuous availability and performance of systems by proactively identifying issues, coordinating remediation efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain service quality in accordance with CITS and USCENTCOM standards
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain enterprise monitoring solutions such as SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Nagios, Splunk, Riverbed, or similar tools.
Configure monitoring alerts, thresholds, and dashboards to provide real-time system health visibility.
Proactively identify and troubleshoot system and network performance issues.
Collaborate with server, storage, network, and security teams to resolve incidents and improve infrastructure reliability.
Develop and maintain documentation for monitoring procedures and configurations.
Provide regular reports and briefings on system status and incidents to leadership and stakeholders.
Support integration of monitoring tools with other IT management systems.
Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning based on monitoring data.
Participate in after-hours support and USCENTCOM exercise activities as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Principal must have:
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Certification: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification.
Experience: 8+ years of related experience
Required Skills:
Experience administering enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with network protocols and infrastructure components.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and in team environments.
Desired Skills:
Certifications related to monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk Certified Admin, SolarWinds Certified Professional) preferred.
Experience with scripting or automation to enhance monitoring workflows.
Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements and compliance standards.
Prior experience supporting federal or military contracts.
Security clearance level: Active TS/SCI clearance
US citizenship required
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and assist in the deployment of new monitoring tools and upgrades.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to monitoring and alerting processes.
Ensure compliance with DoD security and operational policies related to monitoring activities.

The likely salary range for this position is $125,365 - $169,610. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
