The Opportunity | Director, Supply Chain
Reporting to the General Manager, this is an ideal opportunity to step into a challenging role directly impacting the security of our nation. As our business continues to grow, CW is looking for an experienced Director of Supply Chain who can lead our Sourcing, Supplier Development and Sub-tier Oversight teams, support/drive transformational change, and help take the next steps in customer satisfaction, improved delivery, and outstanding supply base performance.
This role is critical to enhancing our performance-oriented culture within EPD. The individual in this position will provide executive level leadership, is responsible for approximately $60-75M in annual supplier spend and will be accountable for managing the entire EPD supply base, new supplier development, and subtier oversight. This position is the business leader of the overall EPD Sourcing Team (Manager, Purchasing and Manager, Subtier Oversight) which is responsible for the strategy, supplier selection, and performance management of our supply chain and procurement processes. This important leader will work cross-functionally and across multiple geographies with key suppliers to deliver superior quality, delivery, cost, and solutions to meet business needs. Our Director of Supply Chain role demands strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of market dynamics to optimize procurement strategies and drive performance efficiencies. In addition to the functions which he/she is directly responsible for, this position requires continuous interaction with external Customers, Suppliers, and senior CW Leadership.

YOUR CHALLENGE:
Directs the activities of the entire EPD Sourcing Team consisting of the Manager of Purchasing, the Manager of Subtier Oversight, and their team members which include Buyers, Supply Chain Analysts, Material Analysts, and other support personnel to exceed Customer and company objectives
Your primary role initially will be to drive transformational changes within our supply base to improve delivery performance to meet challenging shipbuilding schedules. New Supplier Development, increasing existing supplier capacity and performance, and supporting the Subtier Oversight department team is paramount
Responsible and accountable for every aspect of direct and indirect sourcing of materials, goods, and services that meet quality, delivery, cost, technical, and innovation requirements to achieve annual and long-term goals
Mentors/supports the Manager of Purchasing and his team as they direct and monitor the supply bases' execution of each and every purchase order
Ensures EPD's full and compliant execution of its U.S. Government-approved Purchasing System
Develops, implements, maintains, and improves policies and procedures to reduce costs, streamline processes, and implement solutions to maintain EPD's U.S. Government-approved Purchasing System in full compliance with FAR/DFAR and CAS/TINA requirements
Assists in the negotiations of major purchase orders and supply agreements to favorably impact quality, cost, and continuity of supply
Uses and improves business and Sourcing metrics to monitor, track, and improve sourcing and supply base performance
Recruits, hires, and develops talent to support growth, profitability, and compliance requirements
Manages supplier relationships domestically and internationally
Create a culture characterized by strong attention to performance, customer satisfaction, quality, safety, and personal accountability
Develops, maintains, and achieves department budget
WHAT YOU BRING:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or other related field is required; a Master's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management and ISM (CPSM, C.P.M., etc.) or other nationally recognized certification in the field of procurement is preferred
15+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership, preferably in Defense, Nuclear or Aerospace industries
Proven track record of leading, restructuring, or rebuilding high-performing procurement teams
Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen. You know how to protect margin and create leverage
Deep knowledge of supplier management, contract negotiation, and sourcing strategy development
Experience working in ERP-driven environments (Oracle preferred), with a data-driven management style
Demonstrated experience in supporting revenue forecasts and collaborating with Finance to align procurement timing with program deliverables in a POC environment
Clear, charismatic communicator with the ability to earn trust, give feedback, and hold others accountable
Familiarity and experience with Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSRs)
Strong knowledge and experience with Government contracting practices, including hands-on experience with FAR/DFARS, contract negotiations, and related laws and regulations
Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, and logistics
Knowledge and experience with Lean/Six Sigma problem-solving tools and concepts
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to energize and build consensus with staff, peers and direct reports
Excellent cross-functional interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills
Excellent organization, communication (written and oral), time management, and presentation skills
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
Other duties as necessary
Travel: 10% or less
Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000 plus bonus opportunities
