Your Opportunity:
The Test Engineering Technician will visually inspect, evaluate, operate units, gather data and design test equipment to determine compliance of products to safety standards, performance requirements, and durability parameters.

Other Job Related Components:
This opportunity is focuses on developing Technical College graduates, or HS/GED with 7+ years of mechanical technician experience. Candidates who have completed Bachelors or Masters Degrees are invited to consider alternate roles, such as Internships or Toro Engineering opportunities.
Some travel to field test sites for data acquisition or performance evaluations.
Provides physical and technical support to Operations and other designated engineering departments.
Interfaces with engineers, other technicians, vendors, designers, drafters etc. and management personnel.
Work Location:
This opportunity is based out of Bloomington, MN international headquarters.
The current team works 5-days on-site.

What Will You Do? Key Responsibilities:
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Evaluate operation of proto@type and production units in field/laboratory conditions according to established and/or newly developed safety, durability, and performance standards.
Gather data on the performance of products and proto@types to include programming of data acquisition with computer controlled DAQ systems (i.e. LabVIEW, SoMat, Dewesoft) for non-standard testing.
Maintain daily logs on all test projects and may write periodic, interim and final data summaries as required.
Perform required maintenance, teardown and inspections of test units and record findings for inclusion in reliability and maintainability summaries.
May assist in design, construction, and development of specialized test fixturing and test stands.
Provide instruction to less experienced technicians.
Participates in field/lab improvement projects, in field/lab safety initiatives and perform duties with adherence to lab safety protocols.
Participate in quality initiatives and training as needed, and support company Quality policy.
Job Title:
The job title will be based on academic and prior years of experience.
Technician Tier 2:
Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a mechanical/electrical technician - OR - bachelor's degree in a technical related field (ex. Automotive, Manufacturing, Design, Agriculture) and minimum two (2) years' experience in related role - OR - minimum of seven (7) years of experience in lieu of education in a mechanical/electrical role.
Experience with data acquisition devices required, e.g. LabVIEW, SoMat, etc.
Technician Tier 3:
Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate.
Minimum of five (5) plus years of experience as a mechanical/electrical technician - OR - bachelor's degree in a technical related field (ex. Automotive, Manufacturing, Design, Agriculture.) and advanced experience of three (3) plus years in a technical related role -OR-Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in lieu of education in a technical related role.
Advanced experience with data acquisition devices to include demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication, teamwork, leadership etc.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently supporting cross-functional staff members.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate. Entry level (zero to three years) experience in a related technical role --OR - Minimum of four (4) years of experience in lieu of education in a mechanical/electrical role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel etc.) is required.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated troubleshooting capability.
Ability to work independently and in team environment supporting cross-functional staff members and many different individuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data acquisition devices highly desirable, e.g., LabVIEW, SoMat, etc.
Prior demonstrated success with SAP software.
Mechanical experience and/or proficiency in reading drawings and schematics a plus.

Competitive Salary - A reasonable salary estimate is $30.00-$38.00/hour for this opportunity. The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
