THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Optical Lab Factory Foreman at SCI Chester, you will play a critical role in overseeing the production excellence and the operational security of the Correctional Industries Optical Lab. You will be responsible for directing all manufacturing processes, ensuring that the lab meets high-volume production demands while maintaining rigorous quality standards. Your leadership will extend to monitoring the complete lifecycle of the lab's operations, from the procurement of raw materials and inventory management to the final shipping and receiving of finished optical goods. In this supervisory capacity, you will lead a team of inmate employees, fostering a productive and disciplined work environment. You will be responsible for managing inmate attendance, evaluating worker performance, and providing necessary training and direction to ensure operational success.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience in optical manufacture or repair work in a commercial or institutional optical lab operation; or
Three years of experience as a Corrections Officer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) , including one year involving optical manufacture or repair work in a commercial or institutional optical lab operation;or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
