Overview
This position provides functional management and leadership to a team of Media Strategy Supervisors/Planners and performance/career management to a smaller group of direct reports. The Associate Media Director is a strong cross-functional contributor who works closely with Directors/other Account Directors to drive growth opportunities with their current clients and foster media innovation in the agency at large. This person also supports the Director, Media and VP, Media in new business activities as needed. Has established a track record of successfully leading teams strategically. Has amassed the experience necessary to service any @type of media account. Has coordinated internal training efforts and developed new processes. Has cultivated internal relationships. Has contributed to thought capital and knowledge sharing. Has emerged as trusted advisor to client team. Has developed the ability to take complex ideas and elevate them to a senior audience. Has partnered with account leads to pursue business advancement opportunities. Has successfully developed and mentored junior staff.

Core Craft Skills
Serves as main client lead and connective hub internally between all channel teams and disciplines - overseeing team with management of all workstreams.
Leads development of audience-led, full funnel strategies aligned to client objectives - crafting strategic frameworks, role of channel, audience and marketplace work.
Drives strategic to tactical planning phase in conjunction with activation teams - overseeing media planning to ensure execution ladders back to strategy.
Guides supervisors on team with overall budget management.
Plans and buys media as needed; may include site direct responsibilities.
Develops and maintains publisher relationships, including senior-level contacts; contributes to issue resolution between both parties.
Works cross-functionally with management team and client team.
Assists in elevating performance reporting and excels in performance analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills/presence.
Excellent financial acumen and business expertise.
Client Exposure
Manages one or more smaller accounts ($10+ million in total spend).
Provides marketing expertise, including online and offline strategy development for clients and client teams. Conversant about offline media and how digital fits.
Business Development

Team Leadership
Manages a staff of 10+ total team members, along with workflow and department capabilities in conjunction with the Media Strategy & Planning Director
Provides day-to-day functional management of media team, including recruiting, performance management, and plays an active role in training and mentoring.
Agency Leadership
Assists with interviewing, hiring and getting new Media Planners up to speed.
Leads Media Training (basic knowledge, best practices, feedback and coaching to enable continuous improvement).
Fosters an environment of shared learning and acts as a trusted source of media information for agency and in client meetings.
Holds a strong partnership with the Insights Group; understands ad technologies and capabilities.
Understands all Razorfish products, tools and services.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year, accredited college or university.
Previous Experience
5-7 years of media planning/strategy or equivalent business experience; minimum 4+ years in online media required.
3+ years management experience required.
Milestones
Has successfully handled the annual planning for a medium- to large-scale account or on a small-scale accounts.
Has worked at the Supervisor level on more than one account.
Has supported in a critical capacity several high-profile new business pitch.
Has developed a strong knowledge of emerging technologies; shares learning with team.
Has shown emerging thought leadership capabilities (attends conferences and speaks on panels).
Has demonstrated strong client service orientation. Has collaborated effectively internally and with offline agency partners.
Proficient in Microsoft suite of tools, competitive and audience tools (i.e., Kantar, Pathmatics, MRI, ComScore), Prisma preferred.

Compensation Range: $97,375 - $155,961. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
