Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

In this dynamic role, you will provide daily technical expertise for blown film extrusion operations. You will take ownership of process challenges, driving continuous improvement in technology, capacity, reliability, throughput, quality, yields, manufacturing costs, and safety. You will lead the implementation of new processes and capital projects, support project scope development, commissioning, start-up, and training, and standardize processes while documenting design and line capabilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and document validation protocols for food and medical applications.

Provide technical leadership for new or revised product introductions.

Collaborate with R&D, sales, quality, and operations teams to conduct trials and scale-ups.

Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Respond to process issues to minimize manufacturing impact.

Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, best practices, and safety protocols.

Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor and lead in safety initiatives.

Collect and analyze data daily to drive both short-term and long-term process improvements.

Work alongside maintenance and technical groups for resolving process constraints.

Engage in continuous learning and provide insights on resource allocation for optimal results.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).

Minimum 5 years of experience in a process or production environment, with preference for blown film extrusion or plastics processing.

Training and experience in Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies.

Experience with process automation and control systems, including PLCs, instrumentation, and data historians.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering documents and using data to drive improvements in OEE, capacity, cycle time, yield, cost, and quality.

Strong project management, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to ongoing professional development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Mechanical engineering degree preferred.

Experience in corrugated packaging or food industry is an advantage.

Ability to learn about polymers and plastic bag manufacturing processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
