Bowhead Information Technologies Service is seeking a Protocol Support Specialist to support our Space Forces - Space customer.
Responsibilities
Orchestrate events, meetings, visits, conferences, and ceremonies in support of S4S General Officers, senior leaders, and subordinate offices by supporting protocol events and products, and providing advice, counsel, and visitor support
Develop Protocol event products and perform room set up to accommodate the meetings and hosted events of S4S General Officers and Senior Leaders
Create and provide completed products as directed by the Protocol Director, subject matter experts, higher headquarters, and subordinate units as requested
Products identified for a given event, visit, or meeting will be created, quality controlled, and ready for use no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled event/visit
Ensure rooms are fully setup and prepared prior to meetings, events, and visits
Support Distinguished Visitor's, meetings, events, and ceremonies as required by the Protocol Director (This includes drafting or review of event books, coordination with AOs and the offices of the CDR/DCDR/COS/CSEL for S4S, and execution on the day of the visit or event)
Provide after-hours support coordinated through the Contracting Officer and Contractor PM in advance
Execute all policies and procedures on S4S protocol, social command functions, and high-level foreign and domestic visits
Develops and transmits protocol programs for S4S
Coordinates and consolidates initiatives, plans, and actions for S4S into an integrated protocol program
Serve as a protocol advisor to S4S senior leadership
Reviews protocol activities and initiatives for responsiveness to command requirements and assures continued responsiveness to changing conditions by furnishing appropriate guidance to the headquarters staff and subordinate units
Presents program changes and recommendations for improvement through the S4S Protocol Director
Monitors and advises the S4S Protocol Director, Commander, Deputy Commander, and Chief of Staff on protocol issues
Completes after action reports on visits and events
Plans, direct, and oversee the formulation of all arrangements for the full orchestration of Command social and official functions
Personally directs distinguished visitor support activities at S4S installations in the Colorado Springs area, routinely hosting visits that include senior ranking personnel at the highest levels of government, joint and service headquarters, as well as other field commands, international coalition and commercial mission partners
Ensures that correct interpretation and application of national and international rules, procedures, and forums prescribing traditional and formal diplomatic customs, courtesies, and etiquette due to visiting dignitaries
Serve as the Command focal point for S4S Protocol Programs by establishing, developing, and maintaining effective working relationships within S4S, its subordinate and supported organizations, interagency, other agencies, DoD, Federal and foreign governments
Represent the S4S Protocol Office at higher levels within the organization and at conferences with military services, DoD, and other agencies
Deliver presentations on program status, accomplishments, problems, requirements for support, and promotion of program objectives to senior military officers
Develops, suggests and/or processes instructions, guides, supplementary material and pertinent correspondence
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-10 years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in initiating and/or developing Government specified content for Government Protocol Offices
Sufficient familiarity with Public Affairs processes and procedures to support PAO requests to accomplish routine taskings
Detailed PAO SME support is provided by other members of the team
Experience in providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations for mission and program challenges
Maintains the specific skills, knowledge, and comprehension to perform all task functions quickly and accurately without supervision or assistance
Protocol training (e.g. Protocol School of Washington, or similar) preferred
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
