JOB OPENING:

SALES ASSOCIATE

JOB DESCRIPTION:

? Assist in marketing the lumber products produced by this company. Offer and sell production and projected

production within the parameters of the published sales list at the Princeton and Clarkston mills.

? Improve customer relations at all levels and provide good customer service. Know our existing customer base as

well as pursue and cultivate new business. Be able to offer informed opinions regarding customer accounts.

? Understand the values in different length structures and grades for all products. Know and sell the most favorable

tallies for the mills for the best and highest prices possible. Must be able to successfully negotiate with

customers.

? Be willing and able to offer informed opinions on market conditions.

? Know and understand sawmill and planer schedules so we can share information accurately with customers.

? Know and understand the order files so that sales can influence planer schedules when necessary.

? Reduce problem areas in tallies.

? Maintain inventory control over production and shipments.

? Negotiate and implement rail rate contracts for product shipment.

? Maintain accurate credit file on customers. Conduct credit checks on new accounts and monitor suspect existing

accounts. Monitor and check accounts receivable regularly for early detection of potential problem accounts.

Notify Sales Manager if any accounts exceed terms.

? Ensure accuracy of shipments, both rail and truck.

? Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING (Indoors/Outdoors)

Sitting, standing/walking, and talking in person/phone. This job requires highly repetitive work and interaction

with others/communication skills. Employee must follow company safety requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

C Bachelors degree preferred but not required

C Valid Drivers License required

C Good work and/or school history

C Strong communication and interpersonal skills

C Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as random drug and alcohol

tests administered during the course of employment
