Medical Office Assistant - Silver Spring, MD

Location: Silver Spring, MD 20906

Workplace Type: On-site

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible to 8:30 AM)

Duration: 4 Month Contract-to-Hire

Start Date: November 3, 2025

About the Role:

We are seeking Medical Office Assistants to join a busy Women's Health Clinic in Silver Spring, MD. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates looking to grow within one of the top healthcare systems in the DMV area. The clinic is expanding due to recent resignations and increased patient volume, and is looking to fill 4 open positions immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

Answer and screen incoming calls, route appropriately, and schedule appointments.

Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff.

Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital information.

Assist physicians during exams and procedures.

Maintain and update patient charts and departmental records.

Follow up with patients post-procedure or surgery.

Required Skills:

Experience with EMR systems.

Patient care and customer service skills.

Ability to schedule appointments and handle prescription refills.

Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Experience:

Prior work in a Women's Health Clinic.

Patient registration and insurance verification.

Familiarity with EHR systems and front desk operations.

Scribing experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic understanding of healthcare terminology.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
