Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MIL) in the MANPOWER AND RESERVE AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT of HQ US MARINE CORPS. Responsibilities You will manage and update contact information for survivors of unaccounted for Marines using the Defense Casualty Information Processing System You will serve a records custodian, responsible for obtaining service records of unaccounted for Marines to support the identification of remains. You will facilitate execution of funerals and memorial services for Marines previously unaccounted for from past wars. You will arrange dependent travel for the families of Marine casualties to funerals, memorial services and government meetings sponsored by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. You will attend and support Marine Corps family members at government meetings sponsored by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in providing information and services to families of unaccounted for Marines. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
