As an Information Systems Sr Manager , you will play a crucial role in IT Application Service and Operations Management opportunity overseeing the performance and availability of critical applications and interfaces. You will be trusted to work with all tiers of IT services, GD Business Units Finance and Business community to help maintain and improve systems within GDIT.
This position will lead the day-to-day IT operations of one or more applications, including by not limited to Oracle E-Business Suite, Kofax MarkView, Vertex O-Demand and D-Series, ensuring applications run smoothly, are maintained, and supported effectively. You will lead teams supporting scheduling, operations, audit and change management of systems. You and your team will collaborate with technical and functional teams across IT, Finance, Supply Chain and other GD Business units using our systems.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
Service Management: Oversee application services and interfaces for Oracle applications ensuring they meet service level agreements (SLAs). Ensure support teams understand the complexities, interdependencies, and data flow of business processes with forty interfaces and external systems. Act as a senior level expert for the team.
Support and Maintenance : Ensure applications are adequately supported, maintained, and upgraded as necessary to meet business needs. Coordinate patching activities across applications, operating systems, databases and network teams. Manage on-call support schedules for daily and weekend financial processing. Instance Planning & Management to include environment refreshes to support run and maintain and project initiatives
Stakeholder Communication : Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on service performance, changes, and issues. Maintain relationships with internal GDIT customers and other General Dynamics business unit customers using Oracle Financials services.
Incident Management : Act as the primary point of contact for all major incidents related to applications. Ensure timely communication and minimal disruption to business operations.
Problem Management : Facilitate identifying root cause and document root cause analysis, action items, conclusions and recommendations of recurring incidents and collaborate with development teams to implement long-term solutions.
Change Management : Perform change management reviews and approvals ensuring all changes are documented, tested and comply with change management policies.
Performance Monitoring : Monitor application performance and capacity, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
Continuous Improvement : Develop and implement processes for continuous service improvement.
Compliance and Security : Ensure application services comply with organizational policies and security standards. SOX compliance control and process owner supporting monthly and annual audit activities.
People Management : Direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, timekeeping management, performance reviews, goal setting, merit recommendations, training plans, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology or related discipline. In lieu of degree, 14+ years of related information systems experience required.
Required Experience: 10+ years of related information systems experience
Required Skills and Abilities Experience in technical project management or applications service management within information technology. Experience managing Oracle Applications. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and PaaS services. Experience with SQL is required. Experience with Software Development Life Cycle models and IT service management principles. Proficient in incident, problem, and change management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Support working hours outside of normal business hours. Must be an effective communicator (written and oral) across all levels of organization, including users, developers and management.
Preferred Skills and Abilities: Understanding of government contracting financial requirements a plus.

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
