Job Description

The 4th Judicial District of the Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking applicants for a Judicial Operations Coordinator. The domicile will be Pottawattamie County. Under general supervision of the Deputy District Court Administrator, this position coordinates services necessary for courtroom operations and court users. Provide non-routine customer service and perform complex court procedure tasks for efficient court operations.

The starting salary for new State employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The hourly range for this position is $23.13 to $36.57; the expectation is all new state employees will start at the base of the range. Adjustments may be made if the successful applicant has relevant experience.

Hours:Monday - Friday 8:00A - 4:30P

Responsibilities:

Provide customer service by responding to inquiries from the general public, attorneys, judicial

officers, and court employees.

Arrange, assist, and record interpreter services.

Coordinate resources, equipment, services, and ADA accommodations for court users.

Manage case scheduling and prepare courtroom operations.

Provide judicial officer assistance in the preparation of orders, rulings, memoranda,

correspondence, etc., as needed.

Examine court documents, orders, files, and related material for completeness and accuracy.

Administer bookkeeping or basic accounting compliance tasks, such as reconciliation or reports

to assure audit compliance.

Assist in courtroom preparations such as court attendant services, jury management, and

administration.

Other duties as assigned.

Under the direct supervision of the Deputy District Court Administrator, candidates will have the desire to learn the complexities of our court case processing system using our statewide Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). This position may occasionally involve travel to other counties in the district.

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.

Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

The incumbent must meet the minimum requirements to qualify for the position.

High school diploma (or high school equivalency diploma)

One (1) year of professional office experience in business support, court, legal

support, or a related area.

One (1) year of experience in customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least two (2) years of court related experience.

At least two years of experience in a leadership role.

Experience may be substituted with related education on the basis that successful completion of

thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.

Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.
