The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
The Education Programs Supervisor position in the Office of Teaching and Learning is critical to providing statewide leadership and oversight of instructional initiatives that directly impact teaching quality and student achievement. This role ensures that programs are implemented in full compliance with state and federal requirements, reviews and approves grants and program claims, and manages resources to support effective program delivery. A central responsibility of the Supervisor is overseeing and developing Education Programs Professionals through training, coaching, and performance evaluations, building capacity within the Department and ensuring accountability for program outcomes. The position also functions as a primary source of technical assistance for districts and schools, supporting consistent statewide implementation of program requirements. In addition, the Supervisor collaborates with other NDE offices, state agencies, and external partners to align instructional priorities across Nevada's education system. The role further contributes to program improvement by analyzing data, identifying gaps, and recommending strategies to strengthen instructional quality. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Master's degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area, which included experience in at least one of the following areas related to the current vacancy: managing a program budget; leading and managing a team that supports organizational goals; evaluating a program and/or program participants for compliance purposes; OR one year of experience as an Education Programs Professional in Nevada State service.

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
