Position Summary
The Apprentice Electrician implements the work unit's goals and objectives by assisting skilled Journeyman Electricians. All work is done under the IEC and building codes. This includes, but is not limited to the maintenance, repair, removal, and replacement of primary and secondary electrical systems and/or associated components. Position provides construction and remodeling services to new and existing spaces to meet the ever-changing needs of the university.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:
Experience Only:
Two (2) years of full-time relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position, such as electrical experience in the commercial or industrial electrical construction field as an apprentice or building electrical maintenance worker.
Education & Experience:
A combination of related education, satisfactory completion formalized electrician apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years, such as electrical experience in the commercial or industrial electrical construction field as an apprentice or building electrical maintenance worker. *Please note, unofficial or official transcripts must be attached if utilizing education to meet the minimum qualifications.

The highly desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, personal characteristics, and experience directly related and critical to this position:
Enrollment in apprentice program recognized by the state of Colorado or registered apprentice status with the State of Colorado, Department of Regulatory Agencies ( DORA ).
Willingness and desire to learn, receive instruction, and support Journeyman Electrician. Demonstrated experience practicing safe working habits.
Strong customer service skills.
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code ( NEC ).
Any experience Installing Fire Alarm, BAS / Environmental controls, Card Access systems, Security Cameras, Audio/Visual, or any special control/ monitoring systems.
Directly related state service experience.
