Description We are looking for a knowledgeable Purchase & Sales Specialist to join our team in Plymouth, Michigan. This Contract-to-Permanent position is ideal for someone with a strong background in procurement, particularly in the construction and materials industry. The role involves managing purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and inventory coordination while ensuring cost efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate the procurement of construction materials, including pipes, valves, and fittings, to align with project specifications and timelines.

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, evaluating their reliability, pricing, and quality.

Collaborate with internal teams such as project managers and engineers to address procurement needs and delivery requirements.

Create and manage purchase orders while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.

Negotiate vendor contracts to achieve cost savings and maintain budgetary control.

Monitor inventory levels and synchronize deliveries with project schedules to prevent delays.

Resolve issues related to late deliveries, defective materials, or discrepancies in inventory.

Research and onboard new suppliers to diversify and strengthen the supply chain.

Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency. Requirements - A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing within the construction or building materials industry.

Expertise in sourcing and managing pipes, valves, and fittings.

Proven ability to manage relationships with a large number of vendors, including contract negotiations.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with procurement software and tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to handle complex procurement processes.

Analytical capabilities to forecast needs, manage costs, and resolve procurement challenges.

A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
