SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer I is pivotal in enhancing production efficiency and product quality. This dynamic position entails crafting innovative production tools and streamlining process instructions, devising robust production solutions and implementing improvements to existing processes, conducting thorough troubleshooting to uphold stringent quality standards, regularly revising procedures to reflect the latest best practices, executing comprehensive process validations and spearheading cost-reduction projects when required. This position operates within the engineering hierarchy and may entail collaborative responsibilities aligned with the Value Stream Manager's directives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Creates clear and concise instructions for building repeatable, efficient, and usable processes, e.g., PI, MI, and WI.
Interprets customer requirements and approves PPAP and APQP (Control Plans, FMEAs, Flow Charts, MSAs, GR&R).
Investigates, isolates, and resolves manufacturing design and assembly issues to ensure the final product meets the required standard.
Evaluate the current methods used in manufacturing and assembly processes.
Researches and recommends new methods and equipment for manufacturing and assembling connectors and cables.
Interfaces with Assembly Supervisor(s) to review requirements for the design of tooling, processes, and manufacturing requirements for the assembly lines.
Ensures that standard policies and procedures are in place and helps to enforce them.
Ensures Quality System processes and procedures are followed.
Analyze errors during the design and production processes and recommend solutions.
Collaborates with the Design Engineering team to address functionality issues and update procedures accordingly.
Works continuously to enhance the setup and processes for new and existing builds.
Provide training to the new build and service associates in your area when necessary.
Monitors productivity by tracking yields and equipment cycle rates.
Assists with the installation, debugging, and validation of process equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in engineering/sciences or 5+ years experience working in an engineering technical role.
2+ years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Relevant certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is advantageous.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Conversational in any other language is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.
Basic Trigonometry: Understanding essential trigonometry functions and how they relate to engineering drawings and specifications.
JOB SKILLS
Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
Able to learn a new database system, SAP, and associated software efficiently.
Able to design and draw in CAD software, Solid Works preferred.
Working knowledge of blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and ASME Y14.5M.
Knowledge in root cause analysis, 8D, fishbone diagrams, etc. a plus.
Knowledge of IPC/J-STD standards desirable.
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant quality standards is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
Good team player with the ability to collaborate with various departments.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey standards and procedures.
Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders or special projects to meet customer or internal demands.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Approximately 10% of travel is expected.
SALARY INFORMATION:
According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $75,000 and $83,000 annually. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, AmphenolCDI considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
