Job duties

Manage development and release of one or more software packages for electric vehicles (EVs). Develop Software Algorithms in Simulink and Stateflow. Integrate Algorithms with base software and hardware using Embedded Coder and board support packages. Create physical models in Simulink or SimScape to represent physical systems. Author Model-In-The-Loop simulation tests for validation of control algorithms. Triage and root-cause vehicle-level reported software issues. Author software requirements and decompose System requirements across software implementation. Develop fault detection and fail-safe strategies. Manage tasking for team of controls / software engineers and mentor junior engineers. Manage 3^rd^ party engineering support projects for timing, deliverables, and budget.

10% domestic/intl travel.

Education and Experience required

Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and 5 years of experience in Controls Engineering and software integration.

Background

5 years of experience with electric vehicle architectures and relevant control domains including 5 years of experience in each of the following: Powertrain controls and torque management (including driveline damping), high voltage system state control, and thermal management systems. 5 years of experience with software issue root-cause analysis and debugging on HiL test systems and in-vehicle. 5 years of experience with software issue tracking systems, including Jira, and participation in software lifecycle. 5 years of experience with in-vehicle testing and development of safety-critical control applications. 1 year of experience managing controls and software engineers including task assignment, mentoring, and review of work output. 1 year of experience managing release of software package for in-vehicle use. 5 years of experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Embedded Code Generation including 3 years of experience with Raptor. 5 years of experience in CAN-bus monitoring and Vehicle Data Analysis tools including CANalyzer, CANape, ETAS Inca. 5 years of experience with test scripting tools including Simulink Test, Tracetronic and ecu.Test. 5 years of experience with real-time embedded systems.

5 years of experience with git versioning system and continuous integration platforms including Jenkins and CircleCI.

$143,000 to $200,000 per year
