Overview

The Accounts Payable Associate reports to the College Assistant Director of Purchasing and Accounts Payable. This position maintains the regular accounting duties for payables within an organization. The primary responsibilities of an Accounts Payable Associate include acquiring and processing invoices, assisting in the reconciliation of accounts, and paying or receiving payment from vendors.

Job Description & Responsibilities

Completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

Properly saving documents on the network will allow you to maintain historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques.

Research and respond to all accounts payable inquiries in a prompt manner

Assist with monthly close procedures and audits as required

Monitor all paperwork, invoices, correspondence, and verbal communication with vendors

Provide exemplary customer service to faculty, staff, students, and vendors

Perform other related tasks as assigned

Skills

Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures

Knowledge of MS Office

Accuracy, attention to detail, and maintaining a professional manner at all times when interacting with faculty, staff, students, and vendors

Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills

The estimated wage range is $20- $22 per hour for 37.5 hours per week for 52 weeks.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures

Knowledge of MS Office

Accuracy, attention to detail, and maintaining a professional manner at all times when interacting with faculty, staff, students, and vendors

Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills

Associate's Degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years of related experience
