Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is a member of Boyd Allenton's Engineering team. Our business is quickly growing, and great team members are the foundation for our success. In a nutshell, our Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for managing all aspects of casting projects both internally and externally with our customers. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in die casting. Ability to work as a team and good communication skills are key components for success in this role.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of casting projects both internally within organization, and external communications with customers.

Work on quoting new jobs and tool revisions

Manage tooling design and build

Design components for die cast machines and trim presses

Manage machining fixture design and build

Develop FMEA Control Plans and lead APQP meetings

Create CAD designs for internal and customer projects when requested

Review tooling revision changes and corrections

Observe all Boyd safety and OSHA guidelines and procedures

Must support and follow the QMS requirements

Any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

In depth knowledge of aluminum die casting

Ability to read and understand blue prints and geometric tolerancing

Basic knowledge of CAD and the ability to draw and design 3D models

Basic reasoning skills and language skills

Can effectively present information and respond to questions/requests from managers, employees, and customers.

Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and communicate with employees professionally at all times.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

Strong attention to detail with a focus on the company quality standards at all times.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Good analytical and decision-making skills

Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.

Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment.

Previous manufacturing experience

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear

Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch tools, equipment, and/or controls

Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
