Job Title: Cost AccountantJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. You will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing the costs associated with our organic supplements, ensuring accurate cost models, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze the cost of raw materials, labor, and overhead.

Maintain accurate standard cost models for products and processes.

Perform cost variance analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.

Oversee inventory control and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Report on inventory trends, including slow-moving and obsolete items.

Collaborate with auditors during physical inventory and cycle count reviews.

Partner with operations and finance teams to develop cost forecasts and budgets.

Analyze variances and make data-driven recommendations to adjust spending.

Calculate the true cost of goods sold across product categories.

Ensure accurate batch-level cost tracking for labor, packaging, and materials.

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to production and cost.

Provide actionable insights to management based on financial data.

Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficiency improvements and pricing strategy development.

Essential Skills

3-5 years of experience in cost accounting.

2+ years of experience in manufacturing.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Proficiency in ERP systems (IFS preferred).

Understanding of cost accounting, Bill of Materials (BOMs), routings, and standard costing.

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Experience in the food and beverage industry is advantageous.

Familiarity with general ledger, reconciliation, reporting, and financial statements.

Experience in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $92000.00/yr.
