The Construction Manager (CM) is a key member of the nuclear projects field implementation management team, responsible for ensuring successful project execution in and around the power block. The CM plays a crucial role in achieving project performance goals, including on-schedule and on-budget milestone completion. The position requires frequent interaction with contractors at various supervisory levels, as well as direct communication with craft workers, suppliers, work order planners, Health Physics (HP), Radiation Protection (RP), and station personnel. The CM ensures capital projects are completed, tested, and turned over to the station as planned.
This position requires high initiative and proven experience managing implementation teams in nuclear project environments. The role may involve back (night) shift work during outage periods. The work setting includes both office and active field environments within a heavy industrial nuclear power plant. The candidate should be physically capable of navigating tight spaces, climbing ladders, and using fall protection equipment while working at heights.
Duties:
Lead a construction team to deliver project objectives safely, on time, within budget, and at required quality standards
Collaborate daily with leadership for guidance and feedback
Present project updates, including technical, organizational, and financial aspects, to internal stakeholders
Analyze and resolve complex construction-related issues
Develop innovative solutions to accelerate milestone achievement
Perform risk assessments and approve corrective actions and priorities
Provide construction expertise during all project phases, from conceptual design to turnover and completion
Promote a collaborative environment across departments (Operations, Maintenance, etc.)
Ensure construction teams are capable and adequately resourced
Prioritize and balance resources for efficient project execution
Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project scope and goals
Monitor performance metrics (safety, cost, schedule, quality) and implement corrective actions as needed
Provide regular reports on project status, manpower needs, and improvement strategies
Enforce compliance with organizational policies and procedures
Drive accountability and performance within the construction team
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor management
Experience in construction planning and coordination in radiological (nuclear) environments
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage complex, large-scale, and high-risk projects
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Skilled in communicating technical and strategic information to varied audiences
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear power plant construction or related field
Experience managing large-scale contractor services
Demonstrated history of successful project implementation in radiological environments
Experience in commercial nuclear power system upgrades or replacements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $71,000 to $121,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
