Description We are in search of a diligent Accountant for our operations in the Construction/Contractor industry. This role is a permanent employment opportunity, where the selected individual will be tasked with maintaining and analyzing our financial records, handling customer inquiries, and managing customer accounts.

Responsibilities:

Accurately and promptly process customer credit applications.

Keep customer credit records up-to-date and accurate.

Ensure timely adjustment and preparation of journal entries by reviewing general ledger accounts.

Conduct account analysis and reconciliation tasks, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.

Maintain the general ledger charts of accounts.

Assist with initial evaluations of internal controls.

Post accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Manage job cost aspects to ensure effective financial management.

Handle the closing processes for month-end, year-end, and trial balance.

Prepare and present income and balance sheets for the organization. Requirements - A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

Prior experience in a similar role within the construction/contractor industry is crucial.

Proficiency in Job Cost accounting practices is necessary.

Understanding of general accounting principles and financial regulations.

Familiarity with accounting software and Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in spreadsheet software.

Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to interpret and analyze financial data.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

High level of integrity and professionalism.

Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

Capacity to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

Must be proactive, with the ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions.
