Job Posting: Accounts Payable Clerk

Employment Type: Contract

About the Role:

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing accounts payable processes? Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk with proficiency in QuickBooks and/or Sage to join our client's accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments while supporting the smooth operations of the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable transactions, including processing invoices and verifying supporting documentation.

Complete weekly payment runs (check, ACH, and wire payments).

Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Enter and maintain accurate records in QuickBooks and/or Sage accounting software.

Monitor and follow up on any outstanding accounts payable issues or unpaid invoices.

Assist in maintaining proper documentation by filing invoices, approval forms, and payment records.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations related to accounts payable.

Assist with month-end closing processes, including accounts reconciliation.

Respond to vendor inquiries and build strong relationships with suppliers.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of accounts payable processes and principles.

Experience working with QuickBooks or Sage (minimum of 1 year preferred).

Solid understanding of accounting procedures.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and vendors.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (basic formulas, data entry, etc.).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
