About the Role:
Join a critical construction initiative supporting one of the world's leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. As a Construction Project Engineer, you will serve as the key field coordinator, ensuring construction activities are seamlessly integrated with ongoing site operations, manufacturing, laboratories, and infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to drive project execution from the field, manage complex construction logistics, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and with minimal operational disruption.
About TAI:
TAI brings together engineering, construction, systems integration, on-site services, and technical services - combining proven execution with trusted expertise to support clients across the entire project lifecycle. Team members at TAI are capable, well-rounded, flexible, and optimistic. We have found that the best employees are the ones who recognize the importance of what they do and the ones who let that guide them in the actions they take. More than any skill, we seek people who make decisions that support the common good. We work for our clients, and we work for one another.
Here's a glimpse into your day to day:
Develop, coordinate, and maintain construction logistics plans, including contractor mobilization and demobilization, staging and laydown areas, material storage, trailers, temporary facilities, fencing, barricades, and access routes.
Coordinate contractor access, parking, badging interfaces, deliveries, loading and unloading, waste removal, equipment movement, crane and rigging activities, and movement through designated site areas.
Serve as the construction interface between project teams and Site Operations; coordinate work around manufacturing, laboratories, warehouses, utilities, maintenance, and occupied facility areas.
Participate in construction planning, scheduling, and coordination meetings; support short-term and multi-week look-ahead planning; identify logistical dependencies, operational constraints, and field conflicts before they affect execution.
Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, outages, disruptive work, major equipment deliveries, construction sequencing, and temporary changes to pedestrian or vehicle traffic with appropriate stakeholders.
Maintain field coordination records, logistics plans, delivery and staging schedules, and documentation of significant conditions, decisions, constraints, and follow-up actions; support inspections, punch-list activities, turnover, restoration, and audit readiness.
Promote compliance with FMC construction safety, EHS, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), quality, environmental, and site-security requirements; support construction boundaries, barriers, temporary protection, and dust and debris controls.
Provide clear field-status updates and early communication regarding risks, access restrictions, deliveries, shutdowns, equipment movements, and operational impacts; escalate significant safety, schedule, resource, quality, or operational concerns through appropriate leadership.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
Approximately 5+ years of relevant construction, engineering, facilities, capital-project, or field-coordination experience.
Experience in active industrial or manufacturing facilities is required; pharmaceutical, biotechnology, GMP, laboratory, or other regulated-facility experience is strongly preferred.
Experience coordinating general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, multiple trades, site logistics, equipment deliveries, staging and laydown areas, shutdowns, and construction sequencing is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering or technical discipline preferred.
Equivalent relevant construction, facilities, engineering, or field-management experience may be considered based on position level and organizational requirements.
Working knowledge of construction drawings and specifications, construction logistics planning, field constructability review, contractor coordination, construction scheduling and look-ahead planning, material and equipment logistics, rigging and movement coordination, shutdown and outage coordination, turnover, and punch-list management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic document-management systems is required; familiarity with construction-management and project-scheduling tools is preferred.
The role requires strong field presence, organization, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, urgency, sound escalation, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and influence without direct authority.
