Position Summary

Leads the Tier 1 (Strategic) account segment: high-value accounts that need relationship-led selling and score high on both margin and volume, sitting just below the Enterprise tier.

Directs a team of field reps who own these relationships, drive proactive renewals, and pursue new business.

Uses a consultative, strategy-led motion rather than transactional quoting.

Essential Functions

Direct a team of field reps who own the Strategic (Tier 1) book, high-value accounts with solid margin and meaningful volume, through relationship-led selling.

Enforce proactive, ahead-of-term renewal management and a regular customer-touchpoint cadence (e.g., quarterly visits) across the segment.

Drive new-business origination and competitive displacement within the segment, in addition to renewal retention.

Bring internal pricing, complex-program, and trading experts into customer engagements and share market intelligence, so reps sell consultatively rather than fielding technical questions alone.

Represent Strategic-segment performance, renewals, and market intelligence in monthly commercial strategy sessions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Consultative and complex-sale expertise with high-value commercial and industrial accounts.

Working knowledge of natural gas pricing structure, load- and demand-charge economics, and pipeline/LDC fundamentals.

Ability to lead a field-sales team through both proactive renewals and new-business origination.

Ability to structure non-standard products (e.g., LNG, peaking, asset-backed) where the company's asset position creates an advantage.

Leadership and coaching capability sufficient to direct field individual contributors.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree preferred.

Experience: 8+ years in energy/commodity sales, including field-sales team leadership and management of high-value accounts.

Certifications: None required.

Licenses/Registrations: N/A.

Other: Must be able to travel to customer sites.

Organizational Context

Direct reports: 5-8.

Budget responsibility: $10 million.

Total headcount managed: 5-8
