Position Number: S79180 This position is a Grade: 7 - 37.5 with an approximate salary range of $34,090-$40,920 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications. What You'll Be Doing Serve as the first point of contact for the Chemistry Department, greeting visitors and managing incoming calls, mail, and general inquiries with professionalism Provide direct secretarial and administrative support to the Department Chairperson, including calendar management, correspondence, and meeting coordination Support faculty with scheduling, document preparation, travel arrangements, and expense processing Maintain department records, files, and databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility for staff and leadership What You Bring High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred One to three years of work related experience Experience working in an academic department may substitute for a particular degree Demonstrated experience in a receptionist, administrative assistant, or clerical support role Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and shifting deadlines under moderate supervision Comfort working within a university or higher-education environment, where faculty and student needs vary widely across the academic calendar A collaborative, service-oriented approach that reflects the collegial culture of Lehigh's College of Arts & Sciences Why Lehigh Lehigh University is a private research university with a long-standing commitment to both academic excellence and the people who support it.
