State of Idaho Opportunity Training & Programs Coordinator - Admin Office Full-time (40 hours) - $26.44 - $31.89 per hour DOE
The Idaho State Public Defender (SPD) provides holistic legal representation meeting the highest ethical and professional standards to protect the rights of people who cannot afford to retain counsel. The SPD is responsible for all indigent defense cases throughout the State of Idaho, including both juveniles and adults.

POSITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of the Training and Programs Coordinator is to plan, organize, develop, and coordinate the training program and regular and special projects and to perform related work.
This is a non-classified position that reports to the Deputy Director.
Example of Duties
Plan, organize, develop, and coordinate the training program and professional development programs consistent with SPD policies, strategic priorities, and identified agency needs;
Collaborate with agency leadership, attorneys, supervisors, and staff to identify training needs, evaluate existing programs, and assess training outcomes and effectiveness;
Develop training objectives, goals, work plans, timelines, assignments, materials, and implementation strategies;
Identify, recruit, and coordinate trainers and presenters, including SPD staff, contractors, subject-matter experts, and external professionals;
Plan and coordinate conferences, seminars, workshops, and other training events for internal and external participants, including virtual, on-site, and off-site programs;
Establish and maintain relationships with qualified trainers, presenters, educational institutions, professional organizations, and other local and national partners;
Collaborate with other organizations and stakeholders to develop and implement joint training programs and professional development opportunities;
Coordinate the agency's intern and extern program;
Coordinate intern and extern placements and work with attorney supervisors to ensure participants receive meaningful, professional, and educational experiences consistent with their stated goals;
Partner with Human Resources and agency leadership to support recruitment, retention, and professional development through training pathways, internship and externship programs, and other talent-development initiatives;
Identify opportunities to expand professional development and career pathways that support the recruitment and retention of a qualified and diverse workforce;
Coordinate the submission of continuing legal education (CLE) programs for approval through the Idaho State Bar and maintain accurate records of approved courses and attendance;
Coordinate event logistics, including locations, scheduling, travel, transportation, accommodations, audiovisual needs, technology, catering, materials, and other related arrangements;
Maintain training calendars, attendance records, program materials, and other documentation necessary to coordinate and evaluate agency training programs;
Work with the Communications Director to develop and distribute communications regarding training programs, professional development opportunities, and related initiatives;
Recruit and coordinate volunteers when appropriate and provide guidance or training to others regarding volunteer recruitment and development; and
Perform other duties and manage other special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of experience working with agency executives, attorneys, experts, legal staff, and the general public;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong time management and organizational skills;
Experience with common office software, including spreadsheets and documents; and
Flexible team player, willing to adapt to changes and accept challenges.
