Summary The Health System Specialist will provide oversight and management support and administrative duties in the office of the Ambulatory Care Operations Director (ACOD) at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS). Responsibilities Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Provides access related consultative services, working in collaboration with facility service lines, to review and develop guidance and policies that will facilitate standardized processes within the facility and applicable, CBOCs, etc. Review reviews and evaluate assigned processes and procedures to determine areas of effectiveness, efficiency, and improvement for proposal through local GPM group and Supervisor. Assist supervisor and coordinating efforts to ensure patient concerns are received, evaluated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner by the appropriate subject matter experts. Monitors existing or emerging workflow issues; Monitors management issues and provide guidance to CLS and administrative leads when require required. Assist clinic managers and forecasting, the impact of staff changes and developing counter measures to mitigate the effect of staff shortages on access to Care. Provides administrative program advice for ambulatory care clinical support services. Act as a liaison or point person for communications with persons and/or groups, internal or external to the facility, representing group practice management on clinical access issues Provide administrative management for ambulatory care clinical support services. This may include interpreting policies, developing and implementing local policies, defining administrative requirements, and/or providing advice to executive leadership on related issues. Work with the National Program Office, in collaboration with VAMC Service Lines, to review and develop national guidance and policies that will facilitate standardized processes. At this level, applicants would have obtained this experience working within a health care setting, working directly with clinicians and local leadership to solve problems in support of the delivery of patient care; applying organizational and system-wide strategies for continuous quality improvement; and experience running an administrative component of a health care program.
