Description We are looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to support a premium consumer brand through hands-on affiliate marketing leadership in New York, New York. This is a Contract position offering a flexible, part-time commitment of approximately 8-10 hours per week, suited for someone who can guide both strategy and execution with minimal oversight. The role centers on strengthening affiliate performance, building productive publisher relationships, and helping an internal marketing team develop stronger affiliate marketing capabilities over time.

Responsibilities:

Direct the day-to-day operation of the affiliate marketing program, with primary ownership of activity within the Rakuten platform.

Shape commission models, promotional offers, and partner incentives to improve program performance and support revenue growth.

Plan and coordinate seasonal and quarterly affiliate initiatives that align with broader brand visibility and editorial opportunities.

Build and manage relationships with high-value editorial and commerce publishers, including support for partnership discussions and activation planning.

Track campaign and partner results, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend actions that improve conversion and overall affiliate efficiency.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align affiliate promotions with public relations coverage, brand campaigns, and key marketing moments.

Oversee partner onboarding and setup to ensure publishers are properly established and positioned for success within Rakuten.

Create reporting rhythms, process improvements, and practical operating guidelines that strengthen affiliate program consistency.

Serve as a knowledgeable internal resource by sharing best practices and helping team members expand their understanding of affiliate marketing. Requirements - Proven experience managing affiliate marketing programs directly within the Rakuten platform.

Strong background working with premium editorial, content, or commerce-focused affiliate partners.

Solid knowledge of affiliate operations, including platform administration, commission strategy, campaign execution, and performance analysis.

Ability to lead affiliate strategy and daily execution independently in a part-time, contract environment.

Comfortable supporting a premium consumer brand and representing the brand effectively with external partners.

Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.

Clear communication skills with the ability to advise internal teams and explain affiliate best practices.
