This position is located in St. Cloud, MN, at CentraCare
The Respiratory Care Instructor provides classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the Respiratory Care program. The instructor supports student learning and success through effective teaching, assessment, advising, and mentoring while promoting professional behaviors consistent with the respiratory care profession. The position collaborates with faculty, clinical partners, and college stakeholders to maintain program quality, accreditation compliance, and student readiness for professional practice.
Deliver classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction in respiratory care courses.
Develop, implement, and evaluate course content, learning activities, and student assessments.
Assess learner outcomes and use results for continuous program improvement.
Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress, professional development, and career preparation.
Maintain accurate student, course, and clinical records in accordance with college and accreditation requirements.
Participate in curriculum development, program review, and accreditation activities.
Collaborate with clinical partners to support student clinical education experiences.
Maintain professional competence through continuing education and engagement in the respiratory care profession.
Support recruitment, retention, and student success initiatives.
Salary Range:
44,359.00 - 101,620.00 USD Annual
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered respiratory therapist.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Current Minnesota RT license (Minnesota Board of Medical Practice) and current CPR certification
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor's degree or higher in Respiratory Care, Health Sciences, Education, or a related field.
Previous teaching, clinical education, or preceptor experience.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and outcomes assessment processes.
Experience developing curriculum and evaluating learner outcomes.
Demonstrated communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively teach and support students from diverse backgrounds.

Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.2)
** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.3)
