Reporting to the Associate Dean of Admissions & Director of International Recruitment, the Admissions Officer serves as a professional member of the Admissions team charged with the recruitment and selection of diverse, bright, highly engaged, creative and intellectual students from across the United States and around the world.
The Admissions Officer - Temporary role is a twelve-month, 40 hours per week position with an anticipated end date in September 2027. Extension of the position is possible, contingent on staffing and budgetary needs.
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $59,800 and $61,800. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.

Participates in all aspects of the general admission cycle, including:
o Reading of first-year and transfer applications; with the intent to recommend students for admission.
o Leading information sessions, to provide a refined overview of the liberal arts experience at Carleton.
o Conducting on- and off-campus individual interviews, to assess a student's interest in and fit for admission.
o Advising prospective students on admission and financial aid policies and practices in written and verbal communication.
o Reporting and monitoring
o Onboarding to manage a recruitment territory, working in consultation with the Director and others to design and execute targeted recruitment travel starting in the spring of 2027.

Represent the College to external agencies and groups, including attending regional conferences and meetings to maintain the College's visibility.
