We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for large commercial buildings, develop detailed construction documents, and collaborate closely with architects and project stakeholders. This role combines hands-on design work in AutoCAD and Revit with project coordination, site visits, and client interaction, offering the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of building projects in a flexible, hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for large commercial buildings, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Prepare detailed reports, cost estimates, and technical specifications to support project planning and execution.
Perform electrical calculations and select appropriate equipment for specification in construction documents.
Develop complete construction document sets for bidding, including drawings, schedules, and supporting technical information.
Create and revise electrical designs using AutoCAD and Revit, maintaining accuracy and consistency across project deliverables.
Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, verify installations, and support field coordination.
Manage project deadlines, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of design and documentation across multiple projects.
Collaborate and interact with clients, architects, and other design professionals to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
Support the development and refinement of design standards, templates, and best practices for electrical engineering projects.
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work culture by participating in internal meetings, sharing technical knowledge, and engaging in company events.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
3-10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in building design projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical design drawings.
Proficiency in Revit for building information modeling and coordination of electrical systems.
Experience creating electrical designs for commercial or other building projects.
Experience developing comprehensive construction documents for bidding and construction.
Fundamental understanding of electrical engineering principles, including load calculations, equipment selection, and code compliance.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) credential.
Ability to manage project deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, architects, and internal team members.
Ability to perform site visits and translate field observations into accurate design updates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or progress toward licensure is highly desirable.
Experience working on large commercial building projects or a diverse range of building @types.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for electrical design in the built environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, coordinated construction documents.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and collaborate both in-person and remotely.
Interest in contributing to a collaborative team culture through participation in company events and informal team activities.
Work Environment
The role is based in a hybrid work environment, with two days in the office and three days remote each week, providing a balance of collaboration and focused individual work. The team offers flexible scheduling options, including the ability to work four 10-hour days or a standard five 8-hour days, allowing for potential Fridays off. You will work with modern design tools, primarily AutoCAD and Revit, and contribute to a diverse set of building projects. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
