Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description
This role focuses on precision TIG welding using aluminum and stainless steel materials to produce high-quality, watertight welds with no bleeds. You will work from weld symbols and prints to fabricate parts for bridge and fabrication projects, and perform MIG welding on mild steel in multiple positions.
Responsibilities
Perform TIG welding on aluminum materials ranging from .040 to 1/8 inch, ensuring watertight welds with no bleeds.
Carry out TIG welding on stainless steel materials from 24 gauge to 1/8 inch, delivering clean, watertight welds with no bleeds.
Execute MIG welding on mild steel from 20 gauge to 1/4 inch in multiple positions while maintaining high quality and structural integrity.
Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately complete fabrication tasks.
Fabricate parts for bridge projects and various components for fabrication companies according to specifications and quality standards.
Work with aluminum and stainless steel materials, ensuring proper fitting and alignment before welding.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in a fabrication shop environment.
Follow safety procedures and best practices while operating welding equipment and handling materials.
Collaborate with team members to complete new projects efficiently and on schedule.
Essential Skills
Proven experience with TIG welding on aluminum materials from .040 to 1/8 inch, producing watertight welds with no bleeds.
Strong TIG welding skills on stainless steel from 24 gauge to 1/8 inch with consistent, watertight welds and no bleeds.
Experience performing MIG welding on mild steel from 20 gauge to 1/4 inch in multiple positions.
Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, prints, and technical drawings.
Hands-on experience working with aluminum and stainless steel materials in a fabrication environment.
Proficiency in fitting components prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MIG welding experience is a plus.
BG in aluminum welding and stainless steel welding.
Experience in TIG/MIG welding across different materials and thicknesses.
Familiarity with working in a fabrication shop setting.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a cleaner fabrication shop with an organized layout and a strong emphasis on culture and collaboration. The role operates on set shifts: first shift runs from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and second shift runs from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. with a shift premium. You will work with TIG and MIG welding equipment, handling aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel materials in a shop environment designed to support efficient, high-quality fabrication work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
