Job Title: 2nd Shift Kettle Operator
Job Description
The 2nd Shift Kettle Operator plays a key role in producing high-quality sauces in an industrial kitchen environment. You operate and monitor open kettles and other cooking equipment, ensure accurate ingredient preparation, and maintain strict standards for food safety, sanitation, and product quality throughout every batch.
Responsibilities
Operate various cooking and production equipment, including ovens, kettles, dishwashers, pumps, and related machinery.
Produce sauces in open kettles, carefully monitoring each batch to ensure consistent quality and adherence to recipes.
Verify that all ingredients are correct and accurately measure and/or weigh ingredients prior to cooking.
Place products on trays and prepare them for cooking according to established procedures.
Scoop and fill products into kettles and add designated ingredients, monitoring time and temperature throughout the cooking process.
Scoop and remove all cooked products from kettles after cooking is complete, following safe handling practices.
Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas after each use, adhering to sanitation procedures and work instructions.
Gather and organize vegetable carts and other materials needed for production.
Fill containers with hot stock safely and efficiently.
Palletize boxes and prepare finished product for storage or shipment.
Perform general production, inspection, and machine operation tasks as needed to support the kitchen and kettle room.
Essential Skills
At least 6+ months of manufacturing experience in a production, food preparation, or general labor environment.
Ability to operate machinery and production equipment such as kettles, ovens, dishwashers, pumps, and related tools.
Experience with general production tasks, including machine operation, food preparation, and inspection.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and safely during the shift.
Ability to stand on your feet for the entire shift and perform physically demanding tasks.
Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced, and physically intensive environment.
Strong attention to detail when measuring, weighing, and verifying ingredients.
Commitment to following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety procedures, and sanitation protocols.
Ability to follow safety rules and procedures and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Reliability in following work instructions and completing assigned tasks accurately and on time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in food preparation or industrial kitchen work.
Experience in general labor roles that require lifting, standing, and repetitive tasks.
Comfort with inspection tasks and quality checks on products and processes.
Willingness to perform miscellaneous job-related duties as needed to support the team.
Ability to adapt to different areas of the facility, such as kettle rooms, coolers, and oven areas.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow into advanced roles over time.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large industrial kitchen setting with a kettle room that is hot and involves fully manual, physical work with no automation. You may work in areas that vary in temperature, such as cooler zones or warmer spaces near ovens. Shifts are structured as 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 3rd shift from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., all running Sunday through Thursday. The work involves standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, handling hot stock, and working around industrial cooking equipment in a production-focused environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Green Bay, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.75/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
