The A/V Systems Engineer provides advanced technical support for the design, integration, operation, and sustainment of CLIENT's enterprise audio/visual and conferencing capabilities across all CLIENT facilities. Working under the direction of the A/V Lead Systems Integrator, this individual supports the delivery of reliable, high-quality audiovisual experiences for CLIENT staff, leadership, and executive engagements, including conference room technology, digital signage, and executive briefing environments.
This role requires solid technical expertise in enterprise A/V systems, the ability to work independently on moderately complex A/V problems, and the capacity to serve as a qualified backup to the A/V Lead Systems Integrator when needed. The A/V Systems Engineer contributes to A/V project planning and execution, supports incident resolution, and ensures minimal service interruptions across CLIENT's audiovisual environment.
This role requires a strong blend of technical A/V knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven federal environment where executive-level engagements demand flawless audiovisual performance.
Key Responsibilities:
A/V Systems Integration & Operations:
Provide advanced technical support for the integration, configuration, and sustainment of enterprise A/V and conferencing systems across CLIENT facilities
Support maintenance and operation of conference room technology, digital signage systems, and executive briefing environments
Assist in the integration of A/V systems with CLIENT's enterprise IT infrastructure, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, network connectivity, and endpoint management
Support planning and execution of A/V infrastructure upgrades, refreshes, and new installations under the direction of the A/V Lead Systems Integrator
Maintain A/V system documentation, diagrams, and configuration records in the Government ITSM platform and knowledge base
Serve as a qualified backup to the A/V Lead Systems Integrator during leave, training, or other absences to ensure 100% coverage continuity
Executive & Priority Event Support:
Provide direct, hands-on technical support for executive-level meetings, briefings, and high-priority events
Coordinate with the A/V Lead Systems Integrator and CLIENT event coordinators to prepare A/V systems in advance of scheduled engagements
Execute pre-event testing and validation procedures to minimize the risk of service interruptions
Maintain on-call availability outside core business hours to support executive engagements and priority events as needed
Provide responsive on-site and remote support during active executive events and high-visibility meetings
Incident Management & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve A/V system incidents and integration issues independently for moderately complex problems
Escalate complex or cross-domain A/V incidents to the A/V Lead Systems Integrator as appropriate
Coordinate with network, Microsoft infrastructure, and NOC teams to resolve A/V incidents requiring cross-functional support
Manage A/V incident records on the Government ITSM platform, ensuring accurate and complete documentation
Follow and contribute to A/V troubleshooting runbooks, escalation procedures, and knowledge base articles
Microsoft Teams & Collaboration Platform Support:
Support integration, configuration, and administration of Microsoft Teams Rooms and related conferencing technologies across CLIENT facilities
Coordinate with the Microsoft Infrastructure team to support proper configuration and management of Teams-based A/V endpoints
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving Microsoft Teams-related A/V issues
Stay current on Microsoft Teams Rooms updates, features, and best practices
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on enterprise A/V systems integration and operations experience
Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-scale A/V environments, including conference room technology, digital signage, and executive briefing systems
Experience providing A/V support for executive-level engagements and meetings in a professional environment
Experience integrating A/V systems with Microsoft Teams Rooms and enterprise collaboration platforms
Experience in a Federal or private-sector enterprise environment of comparable scale and complexity
Technical Expertise:
Solid proficiency in:
Enterprise A/V system integration and operations
Conference room technology (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Poly, Cisco, Logitech)
Digital signage systems and management platforms
Microsoft Teams Rooms configuration and support
A/V over IP technologies and transport protocols
Display technologies (LED, LCD, projection systems)
Audio systems (DSP configuration, microphone arrays, speaker systems)
Working knowledge of:
Enterprise network fundamentals relevant to A/V systems (VLANs, QoS, multicast)
Microsoft 365 and Teams administration as it relates to A/V endpoints
ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow)
IT security principles applicable to A/V systems
ITIL 4 change and incident management practices
Required Certifications (Must be current and unexpired throughout performance):
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) - AVIXA (required)
CTS-I (Certified Technology Specialist - Installation) (preferred)
Additional preferred certifications:
Crestron Certified Programmer or equivalent manufacturer certification
Microsoft Teams Rooms certification or equivalent
Extron Control Professional certification
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
