Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support essential financial operations for a communications organization in Fort Morgan, Colorado. This Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong experience across payables, receivables, billing, and reconciliations while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The role will contribute to day-to-day accounting activities, help maintain organized financial records, and support timely reporting and transaction processing.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.

Manage customer invoicing and incoming payments while resolving discrepancies to keep accounts current.

Perform regular account reconciliations to identify variances, research issues, and maintain reliable financial records.

Support billing operations by preparing charges, reviewing account details, and confirming the accuracy of posted transactions.

Assist with general accounting tasks, including journal support, record maintenance, and documentation of financial activity.

Track sales tax information, help prepare related reporting, and maintain compliance with applicable requirements.

Monitor inventory-related accounting entries and help reconcile inventory balances with financial records.

Work with internal teams to gather financial details, answer transaction-related questions, and support smooth accounting workflows. Requirements - At least 3 years of experience in an accounting support or accounting specialist role.

Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliation.

Experience performing day-to-day accounting functions with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Familiarity with sales tax processing and inventory accounting practices.

Ability to organize multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain dependable records in a contract assignment.

Strong communication skills for working with internal stakeholders and addressing account-related questions.

Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial tracking and reporting.
