Position Overview
As an Electrical Engineer II, you will support the design and delivery of electrical systems for complex building projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, and project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who can independently execute core design tasks while contributing to larger project efforts and continuing to develop technical expertise in advanced building systems.
What You'll DoElectrical Design
Design electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects
Develop solutions for:
Power distribution systems
Lighting systems and lighting controls
Low-voltage systems
Building support infrastructure
Perform electrical engineering calculations and analyses
Complete load calculations and equipment sizing
Develop panel schedules and one-line diagrams
Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and design packages
Project Coordination
Collaborate closely with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural disciplines
Participate in project meetings and design reviews
Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule commitments
Construction Support
Assist with construction administration activities
Review contractor submittals and RFIs
Participate in field coordination and project site visits as needed
Support successful implementation of engineered designs during construction
Professional Development
Gain exposure to more advanced electrical infrastructure systems, including:
Medium-voltage systems
Emergency power systems
Generators
Transformers
Switchgear
Work alongside experienced senior engineers and technical leaders
Expand expertise through increasingly complex project responsibilities
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
4-8 years of experience preferred, with 5-10 years being ideal
Experience within an MEP consulting, AEC, or building systems engineering environment
Strong background in building electrical systems design
Experience producing complete electrical construction documents and design packages
Knowledge of:
Power distribution systems
Electrical calculations
Equipment sizing and coordination
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Ability to independently execute electrical design tasks with minimal oversight
Strong organizational skills and ability to support multiple concurrent projects
Preferred Qualifications
Revit production experience or working proficiency
Experience supporting Federal, DoD, municipal, or public-sector projects
background in healthcare, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, higher education, or other complex facility @types
Experience with:
Medium-voltage power systems
Generator systems
Utility coordination
Power distribution design
Understanding of multidisciplinary project delivery within a consulting environment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $67.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
