Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote
Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000 +, dependent on experience
Bonus Eligibility: This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.

About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support both pre-design and design phases on large projects across a diverse portfolio, including commercial and institutional buildings, healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, ports and harbors, and infrastructure work.
Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering
10+ years of relevant experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead electrical design projects
Demonstrated project management skills
Experience using AutoCAD and Revit required
Working knowledge of ETAP and/or SKM for power systems studies preferred; we are happy to support ramp-up for a strong candidate who is less experienced with these specific tools
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Familiarity with sustainability and energy-efficient design practices, including Title 24 compliance and LEED, BIM coordination workflows, and mission-critical or backup power systems is a plus
Non-Technical Qualifications
Experience mentoring emerging professionals and guiding them through technical challenges
Demonstrated ability to improve processes, elevate team performance, and implement sustainable, high-impact solutions
Open to giving and receiving constructive feedback to foster continuous learning and collaboration

Job Duties
Pre-Design Engineering
Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports
Prepare electrical schematic designs
Design Engineering
Overseeing power single-line and riser diagrams designs
Directing electrical calculations, including arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, and load flow, using ETAP/SKM where applicable
Lead low-voltage and medium-voltage infrastructure design
Oversee electrical equipment replacement projects, including substations, switchboards, transformers, and panelboards
Understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards and coordination workflows
Apply working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), California Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24), and CALGreen to design electrical systems
Coordinate closely with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural disciplines as part of the full design team
Project Management
Lead projects with a service-first mindset, ensuring client expectations are met through clear communication and technically sound, high-quality deliverables
Oversee electrical design for medium to large-sized projects while fostering collaboration and empowering emerging professionals
Mentor junior design engineers by sharing knowledge, encouraging innovation, and reinforcing a culture of continuous learning
Support the preparation of proposals for complex projects in collaboration with other senior engineers, promoting teamwork and business development
Uphold P2S standards for documentation and quality, reinforcing accountability and trust throughout the project lifecycle
Construction Administration
Provide timely, thoughtful responses to RFIs, maintaining a high level of service and client satisfaction throughout construction
Review submittals with a detail-oriented and quality-driven mindset to ensure engineering intent and code compliance
Foster collaboration and trust with contractors and field teams by being accessible, clear, and solution-oriented during construction phases
Participate in punch walks and prepare punch list reports with a focus on delivering excellence and functional completeness
Uphold accountability and integrity by ensuring final systems reflect design intent and contribute to long-term client success
Serve as a technical advocate for the client during construction, proactively addressing challenges to maintain design vision and project momentum
