Summary This position is located in the Support Services Division (SSD) at a VA Regional Office (RO). The incumbent performs facilities management, property management, government vehicle management, serves as the alternate PIV coordinator and other administrative operations, under the supervision of the Supervisory Support Services Specialist and/ or the Chief, Support Services Division. Responsibilities Typical duties include, but are not limited to: Provides input for efficient utilization of space to include floor plans and design, ensuring proper cubicle design and required infrastructure. Provides property management services including facilities, trouble calls, conducting inventories, and disposing of excess property. Responsible for the day-to-day functions of the fleet management program by documenting authorized operators, scheduling utilization and maintenance and submitting required reports. Responsible for the administration of the Personal Identify Verification (PIV) system, ensures proper issuance of PIV cards and manages administration roles. Acts as the PIV liaison as required. Provide forms and publication services which consists of printing, reproduction and distribution of forms. Ensures equipment requirements are met for all forms and publications activities. Provides input in the coordinating of building security with appropriate authorities. Provides input into the preparation of all reports associated with security. Provides input in the planning and recommendations for procedural improvements in all administrative functional areas. Coordinates with acquisition personnel in acquiring office supplies and equipment, then stores and distributes office supplies and equipment. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. The full performance level of this position is GS-9. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Management analyst or technician or other work that included study, analysis, or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices, and procedures. Administrative officer or assistant, budget administration, program analysis, or other work that demonstrated knowledge of an organization and its functions, and the ways in which support services can facilitate the work of the organization. Office management experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support services such as typing, mail processing, purchase of supplies and equipment, etc. Secretarial work that required monitoring and coordinating administrative and processing work of subordinate elements through a system of internal procedures, controls, production, progress reporting, etc., to insure the efficient operation of an organization. Military experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support functions such as communications, property management, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance, etc. OR Graduate Education: Major study -- public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. For some positions in this series graduate education may not provide the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience may be required for such positions. One full academic year of graduate-level education is creditable for GS-7; and 2 years or a master's or equivalent graduate degree is creditable for GS-9.
