Job Description

The Marketing & Social Media Assistant supports the execution of marketing strategies and initiatives for campus dining. This position is responsible for assisting in the development of engaging content, supporting social media channels, and enhancing the overall guest experience through creative marketing efforts. This role works closely with operations, culinary, and campus partners to promote dining programs and services across Fayetteville State University.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, development, and execution of marketing campaigns to support dining programs and initiatives

Create and publish content across social media platforms, ensuring consistency with brand standards

Capture and develop digital content including photography, video, and graphics to support marketing efforts

Monitor social media channels, respond to guest inquiries, and support community engagement

Support the creation of marketing materials, including digital and print assets

Collaborate with internal teams to promote menu offerings, retail concepts, and special events

Participate in on-site marketing activations, tabling events, and campus engagement activities

Track and report on social media performance metrics and campaign effectiveness

Maintain compliance with Aramark and Fayetteville State University brand standards and guidelines

Qualifications

Currently enrolled at the university, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field

Knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Creative thinking skills with strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with content creation, photography, and video editing

Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools

Previous experience in marketing, social media management, or customer engagement

Interest in hospitality, food service, or campus life

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
