Water/Wastewater Process Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, design, and analysis of water and wastewater treatment facility infrastructure and associated process mechanical systems

Develop plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for pumping stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure

Perform hydraulic analyses, equipment selection, and system sizing

Support project development activities including permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies

Provide construction administration services, including shop drawing review, field observations, and coordination with contractors

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

5-10 years of relevant experience in evaluating and designing process piping and process mechanical systems

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid mechanics, and treatment processes

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Revit or other 3D modeling software is a plus

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering

Familiarity and experience with water and wastewater treatment facility processes and design

Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the commonwealth of Virginia

The expected compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 - $185,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidates relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
