Description

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day finance operations for a growing team in Reno, Nevada. This contract opportunity offers part-time hours of approximately 25 to 30 per week and is well suited for someone with hands-on accounting experience who enjoys accurate recordkeeping, reconciliations, and working across core financial processes. The ideal candidate brings practical knowledge of general ledger activity, bank account balancing, and accounting systems such as NetSuite or a comparable platform.

Responsibilities:

Record financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting entries to support daily bookkeeping activity.

Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet items, and other key ledger accounts to help ensure reliable financial records.

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including invoice review, payment tracking, and posting activity to the system.

Support month-end close procedures by preparing journal entries and reviewing general ledger details for completeness and accuracy.

Use NetSuite or similar accounting software to organize financial data, update records, and generate needed reporting information.

Help prepare documentation for audits, internal reviews, and tax-related processes, including support for corporate and sales tax activities.

Partner with internal teams to maintain compliance with accounting policies and established financial controls.

Contribute to additional accounting projects as needed, including payroll support or process-related tasks tied to financial operations.

Requirements - At least 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a corporate finance environment.

Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation practices.

Experience performing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

Familiarity with NetSuite or another enterprise accounting system is required.

Understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and related financial documentation is preferred.

Ability to manage part-time responsibilities efficiently while maintaining accuracy across multiple priorities.

Strong organizational skills, dependable data entry ability, and confidence working with numerical information.
