Summary The primary purpose of this position is to provide direction and oversight to the Executive Resources Group, serve as a primary point of contact for Schedule C, noncareer SES, and Presidential hires throughout the Department, and assist in managing the executive and political human resources programs. The Deputy Assistant Director Performs golden glove for the politicals, working closely with the Attorney General's office and the White House liaison office. Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities for a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist, GS-0201-15, generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide direction and oversight to the Executive Resources Group, serve as a primary point of contact for Schedule C, noncareer SES, and Presidential hires throughout the Department, and assist in managing the executive and political human resources programs Serve as consultant and subject matter expert to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General - Human Capital, Security, and Administration (DAAG-HCSA), JMD OHC leadership, staff, and component leadership on HR innovation strategies and activities that align with and support the DOJ's mission, objectives, and key priorities Generate new concepts, principles, and methods in the development and promotion of cross-functional human resources areas (i.e., compensation, workforce planning, HR IT, classification, staffing, etc.), innovation, and organizational change Provide senior executives with customer service and issue resolution Assess program taskers and program status; and in doing so, utilize analytical and program planning skills and abilities to evaluate a multitude of management, administrative and technical actions, taskers, and initiatives Provide administrative supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit; Perform the administrative human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the position of Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (CTAP/ICTAP), at GS-0201-15, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Providing Human Resources services in support of human resources regulations and policies for actions effecting the Senior Executive Service (SES), Senior Professional (SP) and Political Personnel; 2) Generating new concepts, principles, methods, or procedures in cross-functional human resources services (i.e. compensation, workforce planning, HR IT, classification, staffing, etc.) for innovation or organizational improvement; AND 3) Performing analytical studies, providing insight into implications of findings, developing implementation plans, and recommending innovation opportunities or resolutions.
