CPI AdamWorks in Centennial, Colorado, has a need for a Senior Buyer to join our staff. We design and build composite structures for aircraft, defense, and space and would love you to consider joining our team! The Buyer is responsible for quoting, negotiating pricing and purchasing inventory and materials in support of CPI needs. Works with close supervision.
Who We Are: CPI AdamWorks is a division of CPI Radant Technologies Division. They are located in Centennial, Colorado. Together, we are the radome-and-composite-structures division of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI). We are formally known as CPI Radant Technologies Division, and we serve the aerospace, defense, naval, and commercial industries by designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting advanced composite radomes, reflectors and structural composite products.
What We Do: Radomes are special "domes" made of composite materials that protect antennas and radar systems from the environment while allowing electromagnetic signals to pass. CPI Radant produces these for critical applications, meaning:
They enable secure communications and radar/electronic-warfare capabilities for military and commercial aerospace platforms.
Their manufacturing includes large apertures and high-frequency performance.
Their advances in composite manufacturing and large structures feed into modern aircraft, satellites, naval vessels, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Liaison between CPI and our suppliers
Source parts required (production and facility) from suppliers
Assist Engineering with the qualification of new suppliers identified in sourcing efforts
Creates and maintains purchase orders
Pulls all documentation and sends out quote requests to suppliers
Evaluates supplier quotes and awards accordingly
Works with Planning to disposition Excess and Obsolete material
Assists Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies
Resolve and/or escalates supplier related issues in a prompt manner
Helps resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI employees
Support Business Development efforts by preparing costed BOMs for quotes
Develop and implement supply chain automation
Performs other tasks and duties as required
$60,000 - $70,000 Annually.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Working experience with ERP and/or MRP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
Working knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP messages
Ability to present possible solutions when notifying management of an issue
Excellent organizational skills
In-depth knowledge/understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Associate or bachelor's degree and/or APICS certification a plus
5 to 7 years' experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
Ability to work seated at a computer for long periods of time
Ability to go onto the shop floor and other departments as needed
