Role summary:
The (USA) Developmental Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC Maintenance, supports HVACR facilities maintenance by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on refrigeration and HVAC systems. This role involves assisting with capital expenditure planning, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and collaborating with management and business partners to address operational priorities. The position requires applying technical expertise to troubleshoot equipment issues, contribute to cost control efforts, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Facilities Management HVACR team ensures safe and comfortable environments for associates and customers by leading HVACR operations and coordinating maintenance activities. They manage equipment repairs, troubleshoot issues, and oversee projects to enhance facility performance while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The team collaborates effectively, shares expertise, and continuously improves processes to align with business goals. Their dedication guarantees reliable HVACR systems that support Walmart's mission to provide a secure and efficient shopping and working experience.
What you'll do:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVACR equipment, including rooftop units, compressors, and air handlers.
Assist in developing scopes of work and capital expenditure lists for HVACR and energy management system updates.
Complete required documentation such as refrigerant logs, work orders, and expense vouchers for senior leadership.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following established safety policies and procedures.
Troubleshoot and diagnose HVACR issues, coordinating with management and business partners to prioritize and resolve problems.
Support cost control by comparing prices for refrigerants and parts and submitting warranty claims.
Maintain equipment inspections and schedule major repairs as needed.
What you'll bring:
EPA 608 Technician Certification with proven expertise in HVAC and refrigeration systems maintenance.
Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVACR equipment, including rooftop units and air handlers.
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve HVACR issues using established policies and safety guidelines.
Knowledge of building controls and direct digital control equipment operation and repair.
Strong organizational skills to complete required documentation such as refrigerant logs and work orders accurately.
Commitment to compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart's safety policies.
Effective collaboration and communication skills to support team and business objectives.

The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 - $31.00The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
