Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Operations, serves as a key technical leader responsible for directing the daily functions of US LBM's cybersecurity defense, detection engineering, and incident response activities. This role owns the operational architecture and tuning of US LBM's Microsoft-centric security stack and is charged with oversight of the cybersecurity operations team and proactive identification, mitigation, and resolution of cyber threats across IT and OT environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Cybersecurity Operations team, including SOC, Detection Engineering, and Incident Response functions.

Oversee security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and cyber defense operations across enterprise environments.

Manage and optimize Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR platforms to improve visibility, detection, automation, and response capabilities.

Drive detection engineering, threat hunting, and SOAR automation initiatives to strengthen security operations and reduce response times.

Lead cybersecurity incident management, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident improvement activities.

Direct vulnerability management, penetration testing, and risk remediation efforts.

Establish operational processes, policies, and standards aligned with security frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Partner with business, technology, and third-party stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity capabilities and resilience.

Prepare and present cybersecurity metrics, risk insights, and operational updates to executive leadership and governance committees.

Lead strategic initiatives to continuously mature security operations, automation, threat intelligence, and cyber defense capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.

7+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within Security Operations.

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR.

Strong understanding of security operations, threat intelligence, detection engineering, incident response, and vulnerability management.

Experience leading SOC operations and security event monitoring programs.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Azure security architecture.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, SC-200, SC-100, or AZ-500 preferred.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency with KQL (Kusto Query Language) for threat hunting, investigations, and detection development.

Experience operating a Microsoft-native SOC and integrating third-party security tools.

Experience building SOAR automation and improving security operations efficiency.

Familiarity with Microsoft Purview for data security and compliance.

Experience leading hybrid or remote teams and executing cybersecurity roadmaps.
