1st Shift Cherry Picker Operator - open to entry level!
Job Description
This role focuses on operating cherry pickers and other powered industrial trucks in a busy distribution center, using RF scanners and warehouse systems to accurately receive, store, and pull products for shipping. You will work primarily in the receiving and picking areas, handling scientific equipment and ensuring orders are completed safely, efficiently, and with a high level of accuracy.
Responsibilities
Operate cherry pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks to move, store, and retrieve products within the warehouse.
Work in the receiving department to unload, put away, and organize incoming products according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Use RF scanners and warehouse systems to locate, scan, and track inventory, ensuring accurate product placement and order fulfillment.
Pick and pull products for shipping, following order instructions and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Perform order selection and order picking tasks throughout the shift, including handling full cases and larger items of scientific equipment.
Follow all safety procedures while working at heights on racking systems approximately 15-20 feet high, and ensure proper use of fall protection and equipment safeguards as required.
Maintain accurate inventory counts by scanning items correctly and reporting discrepancies or issues to the appropriate team members.
Support general warehouse operations, including organizing storage locations, staging orders, and assisting in shipping activities as needed.
Work independently to complete assigned tasks, using problem-solving skills to resolve basic issues related to inventory, equipment, or workflow.
Participate in on-the-job training and periodic recertification on forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
Lift, carry, pull, and push products weighing 40-70 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally, using proper lifting techniques.
Perform frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift to complete daily tasks.
Work weekday and weekend overtime as required to ensure all daily orders are completed before leaving for the day.
Adhere to all company SOPs, safety policies, and quality standards to maintain a safe and efficient distribution environment.
Essential Skills
Experience operating cherry pickers and other powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks.
Proficiency using RF scanners and related warehouse systems for inventory tracking and order processing.
Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
High School Diploma or GED.
General warehouse experience, preferably in a picking or order selection department.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain a forklift certification, with prior experience operating powered industrial trucks, preferably cherry pickers.
Comfort working at heights on racking systems approximately 15-20 feet high.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in order picking and inventory management.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective problem-solving abilities in a warehouse environment.
Physical ability to lift, carry, pull, and push 40-70 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
Willingness to work weekday and weekend overtime as required to meet operational needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nazareth, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
