Job Title: Industrial Painter
Job Description
The Industrial Painter prepares and applies industrial coatings using both hand tools and spray guns on a wide range of parts, from small components to large assemblies. This role focuses exclusively on industrial painting, not residential or commercial work, and serves as the final step in finishing parts before they are shipped.
Responsibilities
Prepare parts for painting by performing thorough paint prep, including cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.
Operate spray guns and related equipment to apply industrial coatings to both small and large parts with consistent quality and coverage.
Use hand painting techniques when needed to ensure precise finishing in detailed or hard-to-reach areas.
Work in and around paint booths and blasting areas to support the complete industrial painting process.
Inspect surfaces before and after painting to verify proper preparation, coverage, and finish quality.
Follow established industrial painting procedures and specifications to meet production and quality standards.
Handle, mix, and apply paints and coatings in accordance with safety guidelines and product instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools, equipment, and paint booths.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow so that parts are completed on time and ready for shipment.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on painting equipment to ensure reliable operation.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of industrial painting experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
Proficiency using spray guns for industrial painting applications.
Hands-on experience with paint preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and surface prep.
Experience in industrial painting processes and techniques.
Ability to perform sanding and surface finishing as part of paint prep.
Experience working in or around paint booths.
Capability to perform spray painting safely and efficiently in an industrial setting.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in a paint booth environment.
Automotive painting experience or exposure to automotive refinishing processes.
Familiarity with blasting as part of surface preparation.
Experience working with a variety of industrial coatings and finishes.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a close-knit production team.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift role, typically scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The facility is a clean, well-lit industrial shop that includes paint booths and related finishing equipment. The environment is structured yet friendly, with a focus on safety, quality, and maintaining an organized workspace appropriate for industrial painting operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
