Outside Sales Representative
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Outside Sales Representative to manage and develop customer relationships within an assigned sales territory. This role involves identifying and cultivating new business opportunities while servicing existing accounts. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow customer relationships within an assigned sales territory.
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities through self-generated sales activity.
Conduct regular client visits, onsite tours, and in-person meetings throughout the territory.
Service existing accounts by responding to customer needs, inquiries, orders, and issue resolution.
Provide customers with information related to pricing, product availability, order status, and delivery expectations.
Monitor marketplace activity, including competitor pricing, products, delivery schedules, and changing customer needs.
Partner with internal sales and operations teams to support customer satisfaction and business growth.
Track and report sales activity, new prospects, market conditions, and key performance metrics.
Manage personal expense reporting, including travel, mileage, and business-related receipts.
Maintain professionalism, organization, and follow-through while working in a hybrid/remote sales environment.
Use Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, to communicate data and customer information.
Learn and utilize internal systems and customer portals as needed.
Essential Skills
2-3+ years of experience in outside sales, account management, business development, or related customer-facing sales roles.
Strong self-motivation with the ability to manage a territory independently.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to use Excel for data communication and sales/customer tracking.
Comfort learning internal systems such as AS400 and customer portals.
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Ability to prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
5-10 years of sales experience in a similar industry or customer base.
knowledge in steel, metal fabrication, welding, or industrial/manufacturing sales.
Basic blueprint reading knowledge.
Prior experience transitioning from a hands-on manufacturing, welding, or fabrication and moving into a sales role.
Familiarity with general shop procedures, safety practices, or production environments.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position that combines remote work with office/in-person work, client visits, and travel. The standard schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Travel throughout central and northern Wisconsin will be required, including regular driving and customer site visits. Candidates must be comfortable with ongoing territory management and flexible travel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oshkosh, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
