Title- Data Scientist, Marketing Analytics Job Duties: Responsible for providing analytical insights, experimentation design, and data-driven recommendations to optimize Etsys marketing programs and SEO initiatives. Design, execute, and analyze controlled experiments (A/B tests) and causal inference studies to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and SEO strategies, ensuring results are statistically robust and actionable. Develop scalable data pipelines and analytical frameworks using Python, SQL, Spark, and Google BigQuery to automate data ingestion, transformation, and metric generation for marketing performance tracking. Conduct deep-dive analyses of SEO and marketing funnel performance, synthesizing learnings and communicating insights, next steps, and optimization recommendations to business stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning teams to productionize analytical models and measurement tools, influence roadmaps, and secure resources aligned with business priorities. Partner with marketing and finance teams to quantify ROI of marketing programs, forecast performance, and identify incremental opportunities for traffic and conversion growth. Create and maintain dashboards and visualization tools in Looker, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio to deliver transparent, self-serve analytics to internal teams and leadership. Build, validate, and deploy predictive and machine learning models (e.g., regression, random forest, gradient boosting, causal impact) to forecast user growth, improve organic search visibility, and enhance customer experience. Contribute to the continuous improvement of measurement methodologies by developing new metrics, improving attribution models, and documenting best practices in experimental design. Contribute to the analytical community, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing through exemplary analytical work and adoption of new data science techniques. Stay current with emerging technologies, data science tools, and analytical frameworks, incorporating innovative methods to strengthen Etsys marketing measurement and data-driven culture. REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science or related field and 3 years of relevant experience. Experience to include: A/B experimentation design, execution, and analysis, including sample sizing, hypothesis testing, and metric definition; applying causal inference methods (e.g., Propensity Score Matching, Causal Impact, Difference-in-Differences) to measure marketing and product impact; developing scalable data pipelines and analytical frameworks using Python, SQL, and cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Google BigQuery or Spark); data visualization and reporting using BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio to communicate analytical findings; and designing, training, and validating machine learning models, such as regression, gradient boosting (XGBoost, LightGBM), or classification algorithms for business optimization.
